This November, a new production milestone was reached on the fourth paper machine of APPM. Since the start-up of this unit in 1961, 2 million tons of paper products have been produced.
The previous anniversary figure – one and a half million tons – was reached 12 years ago. PM-4 is one of the most honored units of the Arkhangelsk PPM. Its launch took place on April 22, 1961.
For almost 60 years of operation of this unit, generations of production workers have changed, the technological process has been repeatedly improved, but the fact that PM-4 has always produced high-quality products has remained unchanged.
“The daily output of the fourth paper-making machine is about 120 tons of products,” said Nikolai Bystrov, head of the paper production unit.
– Offset and kraft paper with a density of 55 to 160 grams per square meter is produced here. In addition, the machine is also known all over the world for the fact that its paper products are used to make the plant’s famous green notebooks.
The production of the two millionth ton is the common merit of the entire staff of the paper production and the mill, its current employees and veterans.
This large subdivision of APPM traces its history back to 1940, when at the end of August a trial cooking of pulp took place, and on October 10 the first paper machine of the plant was put into operation.
